Revival in our time

Dates are very important to us all, birthdays, anniversaries and holidays, we remember from our school days dates like 1066, the battle of Hastings or 1914 the outbreak of the First World War and so on.

The year 1859 stands out in the spiritual history of Ulster; this is the 150th anniversary of a great awaking by the grace of God when thousands were born again of the Holy Spirit of God.  A number of books and leaflets have been written to mark this occasion and to Challenge this present generation as to state their sinners in the sight of a Holy God.

The gospel is still the same powerful transforming message today as it was then, (Romans Ch1 Vs16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek). The coming to earth of the lord Jesus Christ to be our saviour and redeemer is surely the greatest event in history after all it divides our date from B.C. to A.D. (John Ch1 Vs14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.)

The message of the gospel is that the Lord Jesus went to the cross of Calvary to pay the debt of all our sins by the shedding of his precious blood. (Eph Ch1 Vs7 In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace.)
He rose again the third day (1st Corinthians Ch15 Vs4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures.) proving that the work was finished we rejoice in a victorious living saviour who is able to save all who will repent and come unto God by him. (Hebrews Ch 7 Vs25 Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.)

My thought is this, that God still uses small groups of believers as he did in Kells and Connor near Ballymena, when a few believers prayed earnestly and fervently for revival. Take heart Christian, your fellowship may be small in number but out sovereign God hears your prayers. (2nd Chronicles Ch7 Vs14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land)

Do we believe there could be another revival in 2023 or 2024, what a date that would be?
